TFD Opinions: Republican Presidential Nomination Odds September 7

Post-debate edition:

9. Newt Gingrich 1% (0)- Continues his crusade against debate moderators and foreign invaders during debates, also continues to see no increase in support.

8. Rick Santorum 1% (0)- Rick Santorum loves Rick Santorum. Nobody else does.

7. Herman Cain 1% (-1)- Has become a sideshow like many of the candidates on stage. His 9-9-9 plan is Pawlenty-esque in stupidity.

TFD Opinions: Hoffa and Taking Out Those Sons of Bitches

The typical FOX News faux outrage machine was running on high after Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said let's take these sons of bitches out. Of course, FOX News ignores or diminishes all claims regarding the dozens of times that Republicans have used incendiary language that could rile people up into violence. I won't bother going through all the examples, they're easy to find, especially if you listen to Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin. Here's the key though, this is Hoffa's full quote:

TFD Opinions: In Defense of Rick Perry on Social Security

Rick Perry doubled down tonight on his opinion that social security is a Ponzi scheme. Of course, the pundits immediately hit him for it and said that it wasn't a good political message. First of all, it's terrible that they insist on only discussing the point as a political message without bothering to consider whether it's accurate or not. Second, it's only a bad political message because people like them distort what he's saying into a point he's not making.
