Better than Nothing?

Bad financial reform is not better than no reform at all. Haven't we seen this before? Democrats put out a "good" idea. It gets picked apart and all good portions are taken out. Then Democrats get angry and try to pass the bill and everyone says well now it's a bad bill. Why not just pass the original?
